A recent study from Japan's Kobe University showed that rats who drank bottled unsweetened green tea, such as TEAS' TEA®, instead of plain water for three weeks significantly lowered their fat levels. Green tea is thought to increase muscles' glucose absorption. This glucose is used during exercize, says nutritional bio-chemist Paul Arciero, PhD, an associate professor at Skidmore College who has studied the metabolic effects of green tea in people: "Glucose in fat is harder to burn." Contrary to popular belief, drinking tea doesn't affect the body's water levels, so athletes needn't worry about dehydration. Arciero estimates that two to five cups daily is enough to reduce fat in humans."
