ITO EN, LTD.
ITO EN was founded in August 1966 on a simple premise: to produce and sell a product at the very heart of Japanese culture—green tea. Over the next four decades, ITO EN took this idea and turned it into a national phenomenon. With a philosophy of innovation, research, and customer service, ITO EN has made not only loose leaf tea, but a whole range of green tea and other products a mainstay in Japan. The company is now renowned as a trendsetter in the tea and beverage industries.
Though rooted in Japan, ITO EN has also taken an international outlook. Since the 1980s, subsidiaries have been established in Hawaii, China, Australia, and the continental United States. Firmly positioned as the world's leading producer of green tea products, ITO EN is on the verge of making green tea a part of global culture.
Key to the company's growth has been its strong dedication to authenticity. With green tea's important place in Japanese culture, much of the company's activity has been dedicated to preserving green tea's essential taste and character. Intensive research and development has allowed ITO EN to cultivate better tea as well as create and improve a whole line of green tea-based beverages and products. With the increasing information on green tea's health-giving properties, ITO EN has led the way in bringing these benefits to the public.
After all, it is ITO EN's customers and clients that have made the company a success. A main consideration in product development is how customers could be further satisfied. In this spirit, the five key concepts of natural, safe, healthy, well-designed, and delicious are continually emphasized for all new and existing ITO EN products. It is along these lines that ITO EN has developed and introduced lines of juice, sports, and other beverages along with retail and restaurant operations around the world.
In a rapidly changing world, it is the belief at ITO EN that green tea, with its rich history and properties, can be a reminder of the simplicity and beauty of life.
