Cold Brew, 2 ways

Cold Brew offers a modern twist on the traditional Japanese tea experience by using cold water to bring out the tea’s rich flavors and colors. Learn how to make refreshing, Japanese ice tea at home.

You Will Need

Traditional Method:

  • Hot Water (See brewing instructions of your tea for ideal temperature)
  • Ice Cubes
  • Small Tea Pot with handle
  • Spoon
  • Tea Cups
  • Green Tea of your choice

Cold Brew Bottle Method:

  • Cold Brew Bottle (or a similar steeper or tumbler)
  • Tea Cups
  • Spoon
  • Green Tea of your choice

Directions

Traditional Method

  1. Scoop 3 teaspoons of green tea into the teapot.

  2. Add ice.

  3. Fill the tea pot with cold water (see brewing instructions for your tea for the amount).

  4. Steep for 3 minutes.

  5. Shake the pot in a circular motion.

  6. Pour into teacups. Make sure you pour out every last drop. Enjoy!

Cold Brew Bottle Method

  1. Scoop 4 teaspoons of green tea into the cold brew bottle.

  2. Fill bottle with cold water.

  3. Fasten the lid, and place the bottle in the fridge for 1 hour or longer.

  4. Pour over ice. Enjoy!
