2016 Spring Harvest Bai Lin Gongfu

Origin: Yunnan Province, China

Handmade, fully oxidized tea is somewhat of a rarity these days. Masters of this craft rely completely on their eyes, nose, and hands during the full 5-8 hours of continual bruising and firing to produce the perfect black tea. Each carefully plucked leaf comes from the same northern Fujian small leaf variety as our 2016 Spring Harvest Fujian Green. Through oxidation the tropical fruit heavy fragrance transforms into those of cocoa powder, dates and cinnamon. The liquor is similarly sweet and active on the palate with an underlying spicy complexity. A true connoisseur’s tea this should be appreciated without milk and prepared in the traditional gongfu style.
